The video is the Sony edit which is 98 minutes in length. Sadly, the Japanese cut is on the film since the Japanese DVD came out a few days after the US release. It took Toho a year to release this. With that all to the side, this is probably the highest quality for a Godzilla film. The picture is contrasted perfectly and the brightness is good. There are removable English and French subs.

Despite the bare bones features and that the film is cut, it’s a good release. This is a DVD where I cannot really complain.

Audio: **** / *****

We have four audio tracks on the DVD, and like the video quality, it’s 100% top quality. We have the film’s English audio in 2-Ch and 5.1, English Commentary in 2-Ch, and French 2-Ch. The commentary is from the producers, special effects, and composer.

 

Special Features: ** / *****

All this DVD has is a behind the scenes and trailers for (God)Zilla, Godzilla 2000, and oddly Anaconda. The behinds the scene footage is nice, but its way too short, like 2 mins.
