This attracted Zilla, a giant iguana monster with a hunger for meat. Rising himself up from a nearby river,he came from the South end of the city and caused the entire area to panic. He let out a roar to let people know he was coming. Everyone  paniced. The streets were filled with chaos. Little did they know it would awaken another reptile.

 

Baragon was hibernating under the ground, unaffected or aware of the heat wave above him. Large amounts of noise woke him up from his deep slumber. With extreme rage in his eyes, Baragon burrowed his way to the surface, wondering what's all the ruckuss. His stomach started to rumble, reminding Baragon he hasn't eaten in over two weeks. On his way up, a subway train smashed into his face. After a few minutes, he shrugged it off and continued.

 

Meanwhile, Zilla was on Time Square and destroyed the population counter with his colossal feet. He squated down and nabbed a few people as they were trying to get away. His mighty tail ripped a building in two without him knowing or even caring as it blocked exit ways to out of of the city. Zilla wanted more and started to have a craving for human flesh. He found backed up taffic, a perfect snack for him. The people inside the cars watched as Zilla was about to eat them with his huge maw.

 

Just then, before he could make his move, Baragon arose behind him. Using his beam, he destroyed a few cars, one being Zilla's target. He turned around and found the reptilian kaiju. Baragon was caught off guard due to the extreme amount of sunlight and the fact he hasn't been to the surface for awhile and was nocturnal.. His eyes adjusted to the surface. Zilla did not want to give up his food and began the attack.

 

Zilla leaped towards Baragon to attack. He bit Baragon's neck and tried to claw his belly with his feet. Baragon was in pain and shook himself violently until Zilla was thrown off and was slammed into a building. Using his heat ray, Baragon aimed it at a few cars, allowing them to blow up. Zilla flinched. Knowing Zilla will attack again soon, Baragon leaped at him. Baragon bit Zilla on the mouth, preventing the creatures maw to grab hold of him. Using his clawed hands, Zilla scraped Baragon's neck with enough force to send a wrecking ball flying. Baragon let go, put not without doing damage to Zilla's nose. Zilla roared with pain from the damage Baragon caused to his nose. Zilla used his right arm and knocked Baragon on his back, making the monster roar with panic. Zilla kicked Baragon so that he would get the upper hand. Baragon was sent a short distance. Baragon opened his mouth and released a stray beam that hit the top of a building Zilla was standing next to. The debris fell on the mutant lizard's head.

 

The subterranian monster arose again. Baragon leaped at him again, but Zilla used his tail and made Baragon crash into the Chrystler Building. The force of the monster's body made the tower fall in Zilla's direction. Zilla, still recovering from part of a building fall on his head, saw it lean towards him. Running out of the way, he makes it just in time. Baragon unleashes another heat beam, hitting Zilla in the eye. Zilla cried out in pain and was distracted for a few minutes, just enough time for Baragon to get up. Zilla's pain dyed down and Baragon was ready to fight again. Baragon ran toward him, but Zilla countered that by swinging his head at Baragon, causing him to fly into his traffic snack. Baragon used his heat ray on Zilla, but it wasn't strong enough to hurt the giant iguana. Another was unleashed only to have the same result. Baragon charged towards Zilla only to be kicked in the gut and knocked down by a swipe to the face.

 

Baragon got up as Zilla was about to pounce on him. Baragon rolled over, causing Zilla to land on his feet too hard. Baragon jabbed the left side of Zilla's head, followed by hook punch to the right, though it cused little damage. Baragon released a heat ray on Zilla's back, but it barely caused any pain. Zilla elbowed his foes, then used a sidekick to knock him down. The underground repile fired another heat ray to the bottom jaw, but it hardly did anything to the mutated iguana. Zilla approached his fallen enemy only to be kicked in the chest by Baragon's powerful leg muscles and was knocked back a few hundred feet. Baragon got up, firing a heat ray to some of the still fleeing cars, blowing them up.

 

Seeing what Baragon was doing, Zilla did not want to give up his abudent amount of food. Zilla was distracted by the fleeing people underneath him and grabbed some of the people that were fleeing from them. Baragon wanted food as well, he was starving, giving him more reasons to kill his enemy. Baragon fired another heat beam, but this time it was at a car. The car flipped into the air and to a nearby gas station. The explosion was big and loud. Zilla was curious and looked away from Baragon for a moment. This was his chance. Baragon leaped onto Zilla's back and started bashing the lizard's skull. Baragon got anxious to finish the battle and finish Zilla off for good due to his starvation getting the best of him. Baragon fired a heat beam to the head to of little help.

 

Baragon took his teeth and plowed them into Zilla's left eye. Zilla shook off Baragon and howled in tremendous pain. Not wanting to give up food so easily, Baragon fired at Zilla's other eye twice, blowing it up in the process. Zilla was now blind and his sence of smell was not working right, he had to rely on his hearing and sence of touch. Baragon was on his back and waited for Zilla to get close enough. Baragon roared to get his enemy's attention. When Zilla came close enough, Baragon used hi leg muscles and sent Zilla flying to the Empire State Building. Zilla got up and rammed Baragon with his skull. Baragon took a mortal wound to the chest. The Empire State Building was  about to fall on both of them. Zilla didn't know this. Baragon fired his heat ray at the building, hoping he'd burn a hole in it. It didn't help. The building slammed on top of them both. At this time they were both presumed dead, but no one took chances in this case. It was over five hours and the military was called in. They had tanks on stand by, ready to fire.

 

Without warning, Baragon arose and using his heat ray, destoryed the most of platoon in a few shots. It was not the end as Zilla arose. Leaping on his enemy and trying to rip off his neck, Zilla was enraged and wanted his revenge. Baragon was getting sick of Zilla and tried to shake him off and even rolled on the ground into the debris. One tank was still left and it fired at Zilla's left arm. Baragon saw his chance, turned over, and put a sufficent amount of pressure on Zilla that would make him scream in pain. Zilla used his right arm and pushed Baragon back a dozen meters. Baragon fired his heat ray again, but it did little to help him.

 

Zilla was close to being knocked out for good. Baragon fired his heat beam at Zilla's arm wound. The blast alone caused great tissue damage and with Baragon's weight, it looked like it could break off easily. When the beam hit the wound, Zilla's arm blew off. He roared in pain. Baragon leaped at him, but Zilla used his tail and knocked him down. Zilla was out of energy and on the verge of death. He rammed his head into Baragon's chest. It was not enough to knock him down, but it sent him back a bit. Zilla kicked Baragon in the gut as a last resort. Zilla used his wipe as a tail, but Baragon bit into it, tearing one third of it off and ate it. The gigantic iguana fell and landed on his stomach, completely exhausted from fighting. Baragon fired another heat ray, only to increase Zilla's temperature alittle bit.

 

The tank fired again, but Baragon managed to duck without knowing it. Baragon, wishing to finish the battle, put his stomach over Zilla's neck, preventing breathing of any kind. Zilla could no longer take it and died. To prevent the same fate incase another opponent was near by, Baragon used his heat ray and destroyed the last tank. Roaring with victory, Baragon decided to use not only the humans, but Zilla's corpse to fill his hunger. The subterranian reptile used his heat ray to set what was left of Zilla's tail and set it on fire.

 

Now with Zilla eaten and the city of New York devoured, Baragon went on to travel to new lands in the United States
