Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
A.K.A: Godzilla x Mothra
x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
Region 1
Studio: Sony
Country: US
Format: NTSC
Year: 2004
Chapters: 28
Time: 92 Minutes
Video: **** ½ / ***** The video quality is good, considering it is a
new film (well, from 2003). There is some discoloration that is barely noticeable in some of the night shots. Either than
that, the picture is flawless. Subtitles are also an issue as they seem to be based off the English Dubbing of the film.

Special Features: ** ½ /
*****
Now, unlike all other Sony
DVD’s that just has trailers, here we have a 20 minute behind the scenes of Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo
S.O.S. Now some bad translations in the subs call the film “Godzilla: SOS”. Other than the 20 minutes of behind
the scenes, there is just trailers.
Overall: ****/***** This is a step up from the other G’ Millennium
films that Sony released direct to video. But, it is still a minimum in differences from Toho’s DVD for the films. It
seems with the releases of the Millennium films that Sony only cares about making a buck and not going the extra mile which
fans in the US need.

Audio: **** ½ / ***** What we are dealing with here is a downgraded 5.1
Dolby Digital Japanese track, while the Toho DVD from Japan is 6.1. Due to the downgrade, I give the amount stars a 4 ½ out
of 5. Now, the English audio is the dubbing Toho does in Hong Kong. We hear the same voice actors from the Heisei films and
from Godzilla x. Megaguirus, GMK, and Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. Also in the dubbing it seems as though the term “Kiryu”
has passed on, as it is called the good ole “Mechagodzilla” or “Mecha G.”
