Godzilla: Final Wars
Region 0
Studio: Toho Co., LTD.
Country: USA
Format: NTSC
Year: 2005
Chapters: 18
Time: 120 Minutes
NOTE: This is a camcorder
version of the film; I purchased the real DVD when it was released. If you buy pirated films, please buy the real DVD so that
the company doesn’t loose money on the film.
Video: * ½ / ***** This is the pirated version of the film that popped
up on EBay around February of 2005. The first copies or so sold for $87, while I luckily got mine for $7 (that was with the
bid price, shipping, and insurance on the item, the bid price was only 99 cents). The video quality is poor and the video
is on 2 titles which means it’s broken in half. Title 1 is 105 minutes and Title 2 is 16 minutes. The video is blurry,
but quite good quality compared to other camcorder pirated films, there are no people talking and most of all, no people walking
around in the theater. There are Japanese subtitles that appear when English is being spoken, but it cannot be removed due
to it being on the theater screen. There is a scene where the camera cuts from the scene from where the fire is by the tanks,
and then it cuts to the Gotengo coming out of the ground. The scene that is cut is the scene where Godzilla roars. That is
the only scene that is missing from the cut, plus the end credits are not there. The menu of the film is actually a DVD Recorder
Menu.

Audio: **** / *****
The audio isn’t that
bad, its theater audio that is on a 2-Ch. track. There are some spots where it gets too loud and you want to really turn it
down.
Special Features: ** / *****
On the menu itself, it says
Making Of … and Trailers, that’s a big lie right there. It’s a bunch of promotional spots from Japan and
there are audio problems with it and it stops several times and it repeats.
Overall: ** /*****
Well, considering that the price for this
thing was all over the place, whoever spent $87 should feel stupid since it was a Memorex DVD-R of the film. But, it was what
fans outside of Japan needed since the film wasn’t out in their country. Well, this is been obsolete for almost two
years now.
